Have you been considering couples counseling?
Many couples can benefit from getting on the same page and attending therapy together. Couples counseling can help bring you closer together and help you to resolve some issues that were never resolved. At other times, some couples may decide that it is a healthier decision to go their separate ways. I am there to support you in this process and help you to do this in the most respectful manner possible.

What Brings Couples to Therapy
Couples go through ups and downs in their relationships. Long-term relationships do not get there without having had some issues and challenges on that path. Some couples need to learn to fight for each other rather than with each other. If you and your partner are experiencing the following issues on a regular basis, it may be helpful to seek therapy services and get the help from an objective therapist.
This is not about taking sides, but about helping you to use your strengths to communicate better with one another. Sometimes during this process, some couples may decide that the healthiest decision is to end the relationship. I am there to support you during this process if this is what you decide is the best possible outcome.
· Frequent arguments or growing silence
· Struggling with trust, distance, or resentment
· Uncertainty about staying together or separating
· Difficulty communicating without conflict
· Feeling more like roommates than partners
What Couples Therapy Can Help With
Making the decision as a couple to attend therapy services is very positive and empowering. There may have been issues in the past that were not resolved that need to be addressed and healed in order to move on and get past it. This is often possible. I provide a space where you can express and communicate these needs and help you to move past the issue that may be keeping you stuck in your relationship.

What to Expect in Couples Counselling
In couples counseling it is important for both partners to feel heard and understood. Communication and miscommunication can wreak havoc on a relationship. My role is to give both partners a chance to air their different viewpoints and to communicate better with one another. This is not about placing blame on any one partner, but helping both partners communicate their needs better with one another. Sometimes working with values helps the couple change their tone with one another through therapy sessions. At other times, couples need to learn to respect each other's boundaries and develop more trust and respect towards their partner.
Sessions are 60 minutes at my Laval office or online on Teams. Sliding scale fees provided for those in exceptional financial circumstances.
